Coming into force 7th June 2024

The First Minister makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 25(2) of the Courts Reform (Scotland) Act 2014f1, and all other powers enabling him to do so.

In accordance with section 25(1) of that Act this Order is made—

  1. (a)

    after considering a report by a tribunal constituted under section 21(1) of that Act to the First Minister that Sheriff John Albert Brown is unfit to hold the office of sheriff by reason of misbehaviour; and

  2. (b)

    that report being laid by the First Minister before the Scottish Parliament in accordance with section 24(2) of that Act.
