  "text": "For the purposes of this Act, the counties or parts of counties specified in column (2) of the following Table shall be deemed to form one county known by the name specified in respect of those counties or parts in column (1) of the Table—\nTABLE\n(1)\n(2)\nBedfordshire\nBedford, Central Bedfordshire and Luton\nBuckinghamshire\nBuckinghamshire and Milton Keynes\nCambridgeshire\nCambridgeshire and Peterborough\nCheshire\nCheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester, and, Halton and Warrington\nCumbria\nCumberland, Westmorland and Furness\nDerbyshire\nDerbyshire and Derby\nDevon\nDevon, Plymouth and Torbay\nDorset\nBournemouth, Christchurch and Poole and Dorset\nDurham\nDurham , Darlington and Hartlepool and so much of the county of Stockton-on-Tees as lies north of the line for the time being of the centre of the River Tees\nThe East Riding of Yorkshire\nThe East Riding of Yorkshire and Kingston upon Hull (City of)\nEast Sussex\nEast Sussex and Brighton and Hove\nEssex\nEssex, Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock\nGloucestershire\nGloucestershire and South Gloucestershire\nHampshire\nHampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton\nKent\nKent and the Medway Towns\nLancashire\nLancashire, Blackburn and Blackpool\nLeicestershire\nLeicestershire and Leicester\nLincolnshire\nLincolnshire, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire\nNorthamptonshire\nNorth Northamptonshire and West Northamptonshire\nNorth Yorkshire\nNorth Yorkshire, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and York and so much of the county of Stockton-on-Tees as lies south of the centre for the time being of the river Tees\nNottinghamshire\nNottinghamshire and Nottingham\nShropshire\nShropshire and The Wrekin\nSomerset\nSomerset, Bath and North East Somerset and North West Somerset\nStaffordshire\nStaffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent\nWiltshire\nWiltshire and Thamesdown",
