# Sheriffs Act 1887, Section 38: Definitions.

In this Act unless the context otherwise requires—
The expression “county”, in relation to England, means, subject to the provisions of Schedule 2A to this Act, a county for the purposes of the Local Government Act 1972;
“enforcement officer” means an individual who is authorised to act as an enforcement officer under the Courts Act 2003;
