  "text": "(1) Subject to paragraph 2, these Regulations apply to a vessel placed on the market on or after the commencement date.\n(2) These Regulations do not apply to—\n(a) a vessel specifically designed for nuclear use, failure of which may cause an emission of radioactivity;\n(b) a vessel specifically intended for installation in or the propulsion of ships and aircraft; and\n(c) fire extinguishers.\n(3) In paragraph (2), “ship” has the meaning given by section 313 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995 .",
