The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 31(1) and 31(2) of the European Union (Future Relationship) Act 2020f1, make the following Regulations.

2020 c. 29. Section 31 was amended by S.I. 2021/884 and gives a relevant national authority the power to make regulations as described. Section 37(1) defines “relevant national authority” as (a) a Minister of the Crown, (b) a devolved authority, or (c) a Minister of the Crown acting jointly with one or more devolved authorities. The definition of “Minister of the Crown’’ in section 8(1) of the Ministers of the Crown Act 1975 (c. 26) includes the Treasury.
