# The Social Fund Maternity Grant Amendment Regulations 2010, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 13th December 2010
The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 138(1)(a) and (4) and 175(1), (3) and (4) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 1992 and sections 5(1)(a), 189(1), (4) and (5) and 191 of the Social Security Administration Act 1992.
The Social Security Advisory Committee has agreed that proposals in respect of these Regulations should not be referred to it.
