  "text": "This Order brings into force on 21st November 1983 those provisions of the Social Security Act 1980 which—\n(a) amend the Family Income Supplements Act 1970 so as to alter the basis upon which members of a household are treated as a family for the purposes of family income supplement and provide, in particular, that men and women are treated in a similar manner for those purposes; and\n(b) enable a measure of similar treatment to be given to men and women in claiming an increase of short-term benefits, invalidity pension, non-contributory invalidity pension, retirement pension and disablement benefit under the Social Security Act 1975 in respect of a spouse or children.",
