  "text": "These regulations amend the Social Security Benefit (Dependency) Regulations 1977.\nThey provide that, to secure equality of treatment between men and women, references to a wife in regulations 3(1) and (2) (which deal with allocations of contributions towards the maintenance of a wife or the cost of providing for children), 8(1) and (3) (which deals with increases of benefit in respect of a wife) and 11(1)(a) and (b) (which deals with contributions to the maintenance of an adult dependant), shall be replaced by references to a spouse.\nThe report of the Social Security Advisory Committee dated 23rd June 1983 on the draft of these regulations which had been referred to them, together with a statement showing that the Regulations give effect to the Committee's recommendations is contained in [Command Paper No. 8993] published by Her Majesty's Stationery Office.",
