  "heading": "Citation, commencement and interpretation",
  "text": "(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security (Student Amounts Amendment) Regulations 1998 and shall come into force—\n(a) for the purposes of this regulation on 3rd August 1998;\n(b) for the purposes of sub-paragraphs (a) and (d) of paragraph (2) of regulation 2, regulation 2(1) in so far as it relates to those sub-paragraphs, and regulation 3—\n(i) in relation to a student whose period of study begins on or after 1st August 1998 but before 31st August 1998, on the first Monday of that period;\n(ii) in any other case, on 31st August 1998;\n(c) for the purposes of sub-paragraphs (b) and (c) of paragraph (2) of regulation 2 and regulation 2(1) in so far as it relates to those sub-paragraphs—\n(i) in relation to a student whose period of study begins on or after 1st August 1998 but before 31st August 1998, on the first Tuesday of that period;\n(ii) in any other case, on 1st September 1998;\n(d) for the purposes of sub-paragraphs (e) and (f) of paragraph (2) of regulation 2 and regulation 2(1) in so far as it relates to those sub-paragraphs—\n(i) in relation to a student whose period of study begins on or after 1st August 1998 but before 31st August 1998, on the first day of that period;\n(ii) in any other case, on 31st August 1998.\n(2) In these Regulations—\n“the Housing Benefit Regulations\" means the Housing Benefit (General) Regulations 1987 .",
