# The Social Security (Widow's Benefit) Transitional Regulations 1987, Introduction: Introductory text

Laid before Parliament 1st October 1987
Coming into force 11th April 1988
The Secretary of State for Social Services, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 84(1) and 89(1) of the Social Security Act 1986 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, by this instrument, which contains only provisions consequential on section 36 of the Act of 1986 and which is made before the end of a period of 12 months from the commencement of that enactment, makes the following Regulations:
