# The Solicitors (Disciplinary Proceedings) Rules 2019, Introduction: Introductory text

The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 46 of the Solicitors Act 1974, makes the following Rules.
The Legal Services Board has approved the Rules in accordance with section 178 of the Legal Services Act 2007.
