  "heading": "Tenure of office of Elected Members of Legislative Council",
  "text": "The seat of an Elected Member of the Legislative Council shall become vacant–\n(a) upon a dissolution of the Council;\n(b) if for a consecutive period of six months he is absent from meetings of the Council without the prior written permission of the Speaker;\n(c) if any circumstance arises that, if he were not a member of the Council, would cause him to be disqualified for election thereto by virtue of paragraph (a), (b), (c), (d), (f) or (g) of section 17(1) of this Constitution; or\n(d) in the circumstances mentioned in section 19 of this Constitution.",
