# Stamps Act 1697, Section XX: Briefs not charged.


Provided always That nothing in this Act contained shall extend to charge any Letters Patents for collecting charitable Benevolence commonly called Briefs with the Dutie therein mentioned or to make it necessary that such Briefs should be doubly stamped Any thing herein contained to the contrary in any wise notwithstanding.
