Article 58 Exhibits

Any exhibit admitted in evidence shall be marked sequentially with either a number or a letter.

The magistrate shall ensure that a list of exhibits is maintained.

Each exhibit or a label attached to each exhibit shall be signed by the magistrate.

Each exhibit shall be retained with the note of proceedings, unless in the opinion of the magistrate having regard to the nature of the exhibit or for other good reason it is not expedient to retain the exhibit with the note.

Where an exhibit is not retained with the note of proceedings, the magistrate shall ensure that proper steps are taken for its safe custody.
