# The State Scheme Premiums (Actuarial Tables) Amendment Regulations 1988, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 6th April 1989
Whereas a draft of the following regulations was laid before Parliament and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament:
Now, therefore, the Secretary of State for Social Services, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 168(1) of, and Schedule 20 to, the Social Security Act 1975 , sections 44(7), and 44ZA(14) of the Social Security Pensions Act 1975 and sections 5(15) and 16 of the Social Security Act 1986 , and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after consultation with the Government Actuary as required by section 16(1) of the Social Security Act 1986, hereby makes the following Regulations:—
