  "long_title": "This Order brings into force the repeal of the Shipbuilding (Redundancy Payments) Act 1978 (“the 1978 Act”) and of section 1 of the Shipbuilding Act 1985 (“the 1985 Act”) by section 1(1) of, and Schedule 1 (Part IX, Group 1) to, the Statute Law (Repeals) Act 1993 (“the 1993 Act”). The purpose of the 1978 Act was to provide, for a limited period, schemes to alleviate the hardship caused to redundant employees of British shipbuilders by the contraction of the international shipping market. Section 1 of the 1985 Act extended the period by which schemes under the 1978 Act were to have effect. The legislation is now spent; the schemes have expired and have been replaced by non-statutory schemes.",
