# The Statutory Maternity Pay (General) (Amendment) Regulations 2005, Introduction: Introductory text

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Made 15th March 2005
Laid before Parliament 16th March 2005
Coming into force 6th April 2005
The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 164(9)(a), 171(1), (6) and (7) and 175(1) and (3) of the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 1992 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, after agreement by the Social Security Advisory Committee that proposals in respect of these Regulations should not be referred to it and with the concurrence of the Inland Revenue, insofar as such concurrence is required, hereby makes the following Regulations:
