# The Strategic Rail Authority (Licence Exemption) Order 2001, Article 2: Exemption


(1) Exemption is granted to the Strategic Rail Authority (“the Authority”) and every wholly owned subsidiary of the Authority from the requirement to be authorised by licence to be the operator of any railway asset.
(2) An exemption granted under paragraph (1) may be revoked as regards the Authority or any of its wholly owned subsidiaries by not less than one month’s notice given by the Secretary of State to the Authority.
