# The Strathclyde Passenger Transport Area (Variation) Order 2006, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Order)
This order amends the Strathclyde Passenger Transport Area (Designation) Order 1995 to vary the Strathclyde Passenger Transport Area.
Certain functions of the Strathclyde Passenger Transport Executive and the Strathclyde Passenger Transport Authority will transfer to the West of Scotland Transport Partnership by virtue of the Transfer of Functions from the Strathclyde Passenger Transport Authority and the Strathclyde Passenger Transport Executive to the West of Scotland Transport Partnership Order 2006 on 1st April 2006. This order ensures that, immediately before this transfer of functions, the amended Strathclyde Passenger Transport Area aligns with the area covered by the West of Scotland Transport Partnership.
