Article 17 Transitional provisions

In relation to an offence under article 4, 5, 7 or 9 or paragraph 4(b) or (d) of the Schedule committed before the commencement of section 282 of the Criminal Justice Act 2003^f1 (increase in maximum term that may be imposed on summary conviction of offence triable either way), the references in article 12(1)(b)(i) and (2)(b)(i) to 12 months shall have effect as if they were references to six months.

In relation to an offence under paragraph 2(3) or 4(a) or (c) of the Schedule committed before the commencement of section 281(4) and (5) of the Criminal Justice Act 2003, the reference in article 12(3)(a) to 51 weeks shall have effect as if it were a reference to six months.
