# The Summer Time Order 1997, Introduction: Introductory text


SUMMER TIME
Made 17th December 1997
Coming into force 31st December 1997
At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 17th day of December 1997
Present,
The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council
Whereas copies of the draft of this Order were laid before Parliament and, in accordance with section 2(3) of the Summer Time Act 1972, each House of Parliament has presented an Address to Her Majesty praying that this Order be made:
Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 2(1)(a) and (2) of that Act, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
