# The Sustainable Communities Regulations 2008, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 3rd November 2008
The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 of the Sustainable Communities Act 2007 and after having consulted—
(a) the selector, and
(b) such other persons who represent the interests of local authorities as the Secretary of State thinks fit,
in accordance with section 5(2) of that Act:
