# The Swanage Light Railway Order 1987, Introduction: Introductory text


TRANSPORT
Made 6th August 1987
Coming into force 7th August 1987
The Secretary of State for Transport on the application of the Dorset County Council and the Swanage Railway Company Limited and in exercise of powers conferred by sections 3, 7, 9, 10 and 11 of the Light Railways Act 1896 as amended by the Light Railways Act 1912 and Part V of the Railways Act 1921, and by section 121(4) of the Transport Act 1968, and now vested in him and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf hereby makes the following Order:—
