# The Teachers (Compulsory Registration) (Wales) Regulations 2000, Note: Explanatory note


(This note does not form part of the Regulations)
These regulations provide that no qualified teachers, save for certain exceptions, are to be employed in maintained schools or in non-maintained special schools unless they are registered by the General Teaching Council for Wales.
