Regulation 11 Amendment of the Teachers' Pensions Regulations 1997

Regulation C10 shall be amended as follows.

At the beginning of paragraph (4) insert “Subject to paragraph (4A),”.

After paragraph (4) insert the following—

“(4A)

Where the period begins on or after 31st March 2004, the notional salary shall be increased on 1st April following the beginning of the period and on each 1st April subsequently by

$$\genfrac{}{}{0.1ex}{}{\left(\mathrm{RI}-\mathrm{RE}\right)}{\mathrm{RE}}$$

where—

• RI is the retail prices index (as defined in regulation C2(11)) for the March immediately preceding the April in which the increase occurs, and

• RE is the retail prices index for the month in which the period began.”.
