# The Teachers' Superannuation (Amendment) Regulations 1996, Introduction: Introductory text

Laid before Parliament 10th September 1996
Coming into force 1st October 1996
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 9 and 12 of, and Schedule 3 to, the Superannuation Act 1972 after consulting with representatives of the local education authorities, teachers and other persons likely to be affected in accordance with section 9(5) of the said Act, and with the consent of the Treasury, hereby makes the following Regulations:
