  "text": "(A1) This paragraph applies in the case of a person detained under Schedule 7 or section 41.\n(1) An authorised person may take any steps which are reasonably necessary for—\n(a) photographing the detained person,\n(b) measuring him, or\n(c) identifying him.\n(2) In sub-paragraph (1) “authorised person” means any of the following—\n(a) a constable,\n(b) a prison officer,\n(c) a person authorised by the Secretary of State, and\n(d) in the case of a person detained under Schedule 7, an examining officer ....\n(3) This paragraph does not confer the power to take—\n(a) fingerprints, non-intimate samples or intimate samples (within the meaning given by paragraph 15 below), or\n(b) relevant physical data or samples as mentioned in section 18 of the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995 as applied by paragraph 20 below.",
