# The Thurrock Development Corporation (Dissolution) Order 2012, Introduction: Introductory text

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 166 of the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980.
In accordance with section 166(2) of that Act the Secretary of State has consulted Thurrock Borough Council (being the local authority in whose area the relevant urban development area is situated).
