# The Timeshare Regulations 1997, Introduction: Introductory text


CONSUMER PROTECTION
Made 24th March 1997
Laid before Parliament 25th March 1997
Coming into force 29th April 1997
Whereas the Secretary of State is a Minister designated for the purposes of section 2 of the European Communities Act 1972 in relation to matters relating to consumer protection:
Now, therefore, the Secretary of State in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 2(2) of that Act and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf hereby makes the following Regulations:—
