# The Trade Marks and Designs (Address For Service) (Amendment) Rules 2006

S.I. 2006/1029 · made 3 April 2006

These Rules correct rule 8(5) of the Registered Design Rules (SI 1995/2912) and rule 10(5) of the Trade Mark Rules 2000 (SI 2000/136). Both of these provisions were amended incorrectly by the Patents, Trade Marks and Designs (Address For Service and Time Limits, etc) Rules 2006 (SI 2006/760). These Rules substitute the word “registrar” for the word “comptroller” in both rule 8(5) of the Registered Design Rules 1995 and rule 10(5) of the Trade Mark Rules 2000.

## Introductory text

This Statutory Instrument has been printed to correct errors in SI 1995/2912 and SI 2000/136 caused by amendments made to those Statutory Instruments by SI 2006/760. This Statutory Instrument is being issued free of charge to all known recipients of SI 2006/760.

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections section 78 of the Trade Marks Act 1994 and section 36 of the Registered Designs Act 1949, makes the following Rules:

## 1 Citation and commencement

These Rules may be cited as the Trade Marks and Designs (Address For Service) (Amendment) Rules 2006 and shall come into force immediately after the Patents, Trade Marks and Designs (Address For Service and Time Limits, etc) Rules 2006 on 6th April 2006.

## 2 Citation and commencement

In rule 8(5) of the Registered Designs Rules 1995, for “comptroller” substitute “registrar”.

## 3 Citation and commencement

In rule 10(5) of the Trade Marks Rules 2000, for “comptroller” substitute “registrar”.
