# The Transport Act 2000 (Commencement No. 12) Order 2006, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force section 248 of the Transport Act 2000 which requires operators of railway passenger services, so far as is reasonably practicable, to ensure that any substitute road services allow disabled passengers to travel safely and in reasonable comfort.
