# The Tweed Regulation Order 2007, Article 9: Regulation of size of meshes

Extent: S

(1) Subject to the provisions of this article it shall not be lawful for the purpose of fishing for salmon to shoot, draw or use in the district any net of which the meshes are less than 90 mm.
(2) Paragraph (1) does not apply to nets used solely for the purpose of landing fish taken by rod and line.
(3) For the purposes of this article mesh size shall be measured in accordance with Commission Regulation (EC) No 517/2008 laying down detailed rules for the implementation of Council Regulation (EC) No 850/98 as regards the determination of the mesh size and assessing the thickness of twine of fishing nets.
