# The Tyneside Passenger Transport Area (Designation) Order 1969, Article 4: Establishment of the Authority


(1) As from the appointed day, there shall be established in accordance with the following provisions of this Order a Passenger Transport Authority for the designated area which, subject to the provisions of the Act of 1968 and of this Order, shall consist of—
(a) 17 members to be appointed by the constituent councils in accordance with the following provisions of this Order, and
(b) such number of members as may be appointed by the Minister in accordance with paragraph 1 of Part I of Schedule 5 to the Act of 1968.
(2) The Authority shall be a body corporate by the name of the Tyneside Passenger Transport Authority and shall have perpetual succession and a common seal.
