Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations bring into force on 15th June 2022 section 10 of, and Schedule 3 to, the Armed Forces Act 2021 (c. 35) in so far as they are not already in force.

S.I. 2022/471 brought section 10 and Schedule 3 into force for the purpose only of conferring power to make subordinate legislation. Section 10 amends sections 340D and 340H of the Armed Forces Act 2006 (c. 52) as part of wider reforms to the statutory service complaints system. Schedule 3 makes consequential amendments to legislation governing when a service complaint is deemed to be withdrawn for the purposes of accessing the employment tribunal.
