# The Universal Credit (Transitional Provisions) Amendment Regulations 2022, Introduction: Introductory text

The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 42(1), (2) and (3) of, and paragraphs 1(1), 3(1)(a) to (c), 4(1), (2)(c) and (d) and (3)(a) and 6 of Schedule 6 to, the Welfare Reform Act 2012.
In accordance with section 172(1) of the Social Security Administration Act 1992 the Secretary of State has referred proposals in respect of these Regulations to the Social Security Advisory Committee.
