# The Universal Credit (Transitional Provisions) (Amendment) Regulations 2023, Introduction: Introductory text

Laid before Parliament 22nd November 2023
Coming into force 14th February 2024
The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 42(1), (2) and (3) of, and paragraphs 1(1), 4(1)(b) and (2)(d) of Schedule 6 to, the Welfare Reform Act 2012.
In accordance with section 172(1) of the Social Security Administration Act 1992 the Secretary of State has referred proposals in respect of these Regulations to the Social Security Advisory Committee.
