# The Vaccine Damage Payments (Specified Disease) Order 2008, Introduction: Introductory text

The Secretary of State for Work and Pensions makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1(2)(i) and 2(2) of the Vaccine Damage Payments Act 1979.
