# The Visiting Forces (Designation) Order 2010, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Order)
The United Kingdom and Algeria concluded a defence co-operation accord in October 2009. In order to effect the provision made in that accord, it is necessary to designate Algeria as a country to which the Visiting Forces Act 1952 applies.
