# The Walkways Regulations 1973, Introduction: Introductory text


RIGHTS OF WAY
Made 4th April 1973
Laid before Parliament 16th April 1973
Coming into Operation 7th May 1973
The Secretary of State for the Environment (as respects England, except Monmouthshire) and the Secretary of State for Wales (as respects Wales and Monmouthshire) make these Regulations in exercise of powers conferred by section 18 of the Highways Act 1971 and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with representative organisations in accordance with subsection (8) of the said section 18:—
