# The War Pensions (Mercantile Marine) (Amendment) Scheme 1988, Introduction: Introductory text


PENSIONS
Made 25th March 1988
Coming into force 11th April 1988
The Secretary of State for Social Services, with the consent of the Treasury, in exercise of powers conferred by sections 3, 4 and 7 of the Pensions (Navy, Army, Air Force and Mercantile Marine) Act 1939 as amended by the Pensions (Mercantile Marine) Act 1942 and now vested in him and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Scheme:
