# The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (Amendment) Regulations 2018, Introduction: Introductory text

Laid before Parliament 31st January 2018
Coming into force 1st March 2018
The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972.
The Secretary of State is a Minister designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of that Act in relation to the prevention and recovery of waste electrical and electronic equipment.
