# The Water Act 1983 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1983, Article 3


(1) Any person (other than the chairman of a water authority) who, but for the coming into force of section 1 of the Water Act 1983 in accordance with the provisions of paragraph 2 above, would have been holding office as a member of any such authority on 1st October 1983, shall vacate office immediately before that day; but this provision shall not be taken as preventing the reappointment of any such person under the provisions of section 3 of the Water Act 1973, as substituted by the said section 1.
(2) This article extends to England and Wales only.
