  "text": "(1) This Order may be cited as the Weights and Measures (Intoxicating Liquor) Order 1988 and shall come into force on 1st January 1989.\n(2) In this Order, except where the context expressly otherwise requires—\n“the 1979 Act” means the Alcoholic Liquor Duties Act 1979;\n“beer” and “cider” have the same meanings respectively as in section 1 of the 1979 Act but, in the case of “cider”, as if the definition in section 1(6) did not include the words “(or perry)” in either place where they occur or “or pear”;\n“CN code” means a code comprised in the Combined Nomenclature;\n“the Combined Nomenclature” means the Combined Nomenclature of the European Community;\n“made-wine” and “wine” have the same meanings respectively as in section 1 of the 1979 Act;\n“single distilled shochu” means the spirit drink known as single distilled shochu which is single distilled, produced by pot still and bottled in Japan; and\nreferences to a subheading are to a subheading of the Combined Nomenclature.\n(3) The Orders specified in column 1 of Schedule 2 hereto are hereby revoked to the extent specified in column 3 of that Schedule.",
