# The Weights and Measures Regulations 1963, Regulation 87


The scales of spring balances shall be subdivided into approximately equal parts, and the minimum width apart of the graduations shall be not less than one-sixteenth of an inch for spring balances of a capacity not exceeding 30 pounds, and not less than one-eighth inch for spring balances of a capacity of 40 pounds or more.
