# The Welfare Food (Amendment) Regulations 1997, Note: Explanatory note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Welfare Food Regulations 1996 (“the principal Regula tions”).
Regulation 2 amends regulation 6(1) of the principal Regulations to require any application for a payment by a person unable to obtain vitamins because he has not received evidence of his entitlement to a relevant benefit to be made in writing. The regulation thereby corrects an inadvertent omission from the principal Regulations.
Regulation 3 amends regulation 7 of the principal Regulations to increase the price payable for dried milk by a person entitled to purchase it at a reduced price, from £3.65 to £3.75 for 900 grammes per week.
