# The Welfare of Animals (Staging Points) Order 1998, Article 3: Approval of staging points


(1) The appropriate Minister shall be the competent authority for the purposes of Articles 3.1, 3.3, 3.4 and 4.2 of Council Regulation (EC) No. 1255/97.
(2) An approval of a staging point for the purposes of Council Regulation (EC) No. 1255/97, and any suspension, withdrawal or restoration of such an approval, shall be by notice.
