# The Widnes and Runcorn Sixth Form College (Dissolution) Order 2006, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 1st August 2006
The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 27 of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 (“the Act”).
In accordance with section 51 of the Act, he has received a proposal for the dissolution of the further education corporation known as Widnes and Runcorn Sixth Form College (“the corporation”) from the Learning and Skills Council for England.
In accordance with section 27(7)(a) of the Act he has consulted the corporation. In accordance with section 27(2), the Order is made with the consent of the further education corporation known as Halton College of Further Education, Widnes (“Halton College”).
