Article 2
Sections 1 to 8 and 10(1) of, and the Schedules to, the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1998 shall extend to the Bailiwick of Jersey with the following adaptations and modifications—
any reference to the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1949 shall be construed as a reference to that Act as extended to the Bailiwick of Jersey by the Wireless Telegraphy (Channel Islands) Order 1952f1;
after section 3(5) insert—
“(5A)The Secretary of State shall, after consultation with the Finance and Economics Committee of the States of Jersey, pay to the Treasurer of the States of Jersey to be credited to the annual income of the States such proportion of the sums received under subsection (5) as appears to the Secretary of State to be appropriate.”;
in section 6—
in subsection (2)(a), for the words “London, Edinburgh and Belfast Gazettes” substitute “Jersey Gazette”; and
at the end, add—
“(5)Any statutory instrument containing regulations made under this Act shall not have effect in the Bailiwick of Jersey unless it is registered in the Royal Court of Jersey; and where any such statutory instrument is so registered, it shall have effect on the day following the day of such registration or on the day of coming into force specified in the instrument, whichever is the later.”;
in Schedule 1—
omit paragraph 3; and
in paragraph 4, after “Broadcasting Act 1990” insert “as extended to the Bailiwick of Jersey by the Broadcasting Act 1990 (Jersey) Order 1991”f2;
in Part I of Schedule 2—
omit the references to section 3A of the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1949 and section 74 of the Telecommunications Act 1984f3;
after “section 3(2) to (5)” insert “as extended to the Bailiwick of Jersey by the Wireless Telegraphy (Channel Islands) Order 1969”f4; and
after “paragraph 2(2)” insert “as extended to the Bailiwick of Jersey by the Broadcasting Act 1990 (Jersey) Order 1991”; and
omit Part II of Schedule 2.
