# The Wireless Telegraphy (Licence Charges) (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 1997, Introduction: Introductory text

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(1) of the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1949, and now vested in her, the power conferred on her by article 8 of the Department of Trade and Industry (Fees) Order 1988, and of all other powers enabling her in that behalf, hereby, with the consent of the Treasury, makes the following Regulations:
