# The Wireless Telegraphy (Short Range Devices) (Exemption) (Amendment) Regulations 1997, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 15th September 1997
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1(1) and 3(1)(a) and (b) of the Wireless Telegraphy Act 1949 as enacted, and now vested in her, the power conferred on her by section 84(1)(b) of the Telecommunications Act 1984, and of all other powers enabling her in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
